Old Dogs Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) Supplement — 5 x 200 gram packs, 1 kg in total, for horses and large animals.

Packaged in 200 gram ziplock packs for ease of use and best shelf life. PEA is very stable, but it is best practice to minimise exposure to air.

One ingredient: pure micronised PEA, no fillers or flavourings.

At 5 grams a day the 1 kg pack lasts 200 days. At 10 grams a day it lasts 100 days.

How much to feed

• 300 to 400 kg — 3 to 6 g daily
• 400 to 500 kg — 4 to 8 g daily
• 500 to 600 kg — 5 to 10 g daily
• 600 to 700 kg — 6 to 12 g daily
• Over 700 kg — 7 to 15 g daily

Start at the lower end of the range for your horse’s weight and introduce it gradually. Pour the powder over the feed, once or twice a day. There is no loading dose.

Competition and racing bodies each set their own supplement and prohibited-substance rules, and they change. If you compete, check your discipline’s current rules before feeding any supplement.

If your horse is under veterinary care or on medication, talk to your vet before adding a supplement to their feed.
